Snow Canyon JV (1 Miles) 00:04:49, Place overall: 3 | | morning- 3 before drivers ed
afternoon- warmups and strides and then raced the mile! it was way windy so i made sure to draft behind colton bowler (pine view) which was good. i felt like i could have pushed it a little harder at the end, especially because spencer ford beat me. ugh. but i'm pretty happy with my time. also i raced the 800, but i'm not sure what i got, it's between 2:11 and 2:14.

| | morning- 3 before drivers ed
afternoon- had region band so i had to do the workout by myself. i had a 2 mile warmup, drills, strides, 3x1000m at 3:13, then 350 300 250 200 100 meter all out finishes. on the thousands i hit 3:11, 3:13, 3:13. pretty decent for a super windy day. then on the finishes i didn't look at my watch, i wanted to focus on finishing, but the wind was crazy!! calves are tight. i'll do a race report for the jv meet once i find out my times.

afternoon- 4 mile kony with 4x200m finishes. i felt a little tight so i took them easy and hit 31's. super excited to race the mile tomorrow and the 2 mile on saturday! goal on friday: 4:38 to 4:47 goal on saturday: 9:52 to 10:00

Desert Hills Invitational (1 Miles) 00:04:45, Place overall: 13 | | morning- 3 easy. saw the team building a drynasty. i miss running with the team.
afternoon- dhills invite! it's great to have a home meet. i warmed up, took a gu, did calisthenics and striders, got to the start. felt pumped. the gun went off and i made sure to elbow my way inside. i took the first lap at 1:09, way too fast. finished with a 4:45. it felt like a good push, i think i just need to race smarter. koala-fied for BYU! super stoked. now i just need to qualify for state in the 2 mile.

Desert Hills Invitational (2 Miles) 00:10:23, Place overall: 8 | | woke up feelin' like p diddy. got warmed up, took a gu, the gun went off, and i took it out waaayy slow. not sure what the mile splits were. came in with 10:23. it was okay considering it was in the morning and also my stomach was hurting for some reason. but i'm getting closer to that state qualifying time. i need to do it.

| | morning- 3 before drivers ed. passed the test! only missed one question. now just simulators and driving and i'm done!
afternoon- 2.5, drills, strides, 3200m w/ alternating 400: 1:11, then 1:31, then 3x300m, then 2x150m, 2 mile cool down, plyombata, ice bath. not sure what my overall time was, but i know that i only hit the 1:11's for the first 2 times i had to do them. on the 300's the goal time was 50, i hit 47 48 49. on the 150s i hit 20 on both of them. it felt like a really good push, even though i didn't really hit my times. but i gave it my all. now i'm just worried if someone beats my 2 mile time because i really need all the chances i can get to qualify for state.

Dixie Invitational (2 Miles) 00:10:19 | | well. got to the race, the gun went off and i elbowed my way inside. i hit the first mile at a 5:00, so i was right on pace. but i don't know what happened in the last half, because i ended up running alone, which i think slowed me down a lot, so i got a 10:19. it's still a pr by 4 seconds, but it's still 21 seconds shy of state. but there's still time, i'm determined.

afternoon- 2.5, drills, strides, 12x400m at 2 mile pace (1:14) with 1:30 recovery, 1 mile cool down, ice bath. i felt really good with this workout. i hit pretty much 1:12's the whole time, except for the last 3 i hit 68 to 69. good workout heading into the race on thursday

Snow Canyon Invitational (2 Miles) 00:10:26, Place overall: 5 | | morning- 3 easy
afternoon- raced the 2 at snow canyon. warmed up, the gun went off and i took the first mile out at 5:05, and by that time i was running alone for the rest of it, so i dropped off pace a lot and pulled it in for a 10:26. it felt like a good push, but i'm pretty disappointed because now that taylor kale and nephi ran it i won't be top 12 anymore so there goes BYU. but i still have the mile to look forward to.

Nyle Norris Invitational (2 Miles) 00:10:46, Place overall: 4 | | well i warmed up and the gun went off and we hit the first lap really slow, no one wanted to lead. so i started passing some kids and one of them sweared at me, and for some reason i was just really tired, and it was windy and freezing and raining. but i took 4th, and me and tanner scored some good points, because after the first event which was the 2 mile, desert hills was in first place, so it felt good to contribute, even though it wasn't a great time. next time though. well i think i should write my goals for byu: depending on the conditions, i want to get 4:32-4:39 in the mile, and if i'm able to run the 2 mile, i want to state qualify (9:58).

afternoon- 2.5, drills, strides, 2 sets of 1x600m at 1:45, 1x400m at 1:06, 1x150m all out. on the 600 i hit 1:44, then 1:05, then :21. then 1:45, 1:06, and :21. felt like a good push, and i hit my times so that was good. also i think it's good to do the workouts in my heavy altras instead of my virratas, that way i'll feel faster when i get into my spikes.
