i don't usually put serious stuff on the blog, I like to keep it short and funny but I've decided to make a serious post for Delano. So what it is is at running camp there's a 12,169 foot peak called Delano peak that we run up, and some of our faster guys also get to summit holly and stuff, and coach thatcher started the tradition last year that the first boy up Delano and the first girl up Delano would win a pair of sweet trail running socks. Last year kale won and I took 4th, and ever since, I really wanted those socks. As the "race" drew nearer I started to want to win more not for the socks but because it's my senior year and last time to try to be the first one up Delano, I thought it would be sweet if I was the first one up in my last year doing this crazy sport. So we ran about a .7 mile "warmup" to the point where coach thatcher lets us go for it. Kale took us through the forest pretty quick, and when we got to the base of the mountain it was me , Jaiden, scott, and spencer. Scott and spencer immediately pulled away, and Jaiden fell back a ton. They had about a 20 meter lead on me. I just stayed positive and patient, and when we came to the steepest part of the climb, I knew I could reel them in and start creating gaps, which is exactly what I did. I caught spencer and scott at the steepest part, then ran with Scott a little bit, then started to make my move up the mountain. I didn't look back from this point. Only up at the peak. I got to the point where I couldn't hear their breathing behind me and I knew I had it. I got to the top first in about 28:15 which might be a record, I'll have to see what kale got last year. I just laid down at the top and screamed like rocky did in the 4th one. That was probably the hardest I've pushed myself, and it's now given me the confidence to run with hardcore pain. If you wanna see another sick "race report" check out Scott Sandberg's blog. He also has a sick picture he took from his drone at the top of the mountain

3 miles total for the relay. We took 3rd and I felt like I was flying
